Don’t think about it. Just do it.

    — COMMANDER SISKO. EXPLORERS. Stardate Not Given

Do we think about walking, moving, breathing?

We can think about these things. But unless we’re just starting to learn (or re-learn) these functions, we’ve probably mastered them well enough to release conscious control. In other words, we just do them. And we free our conscious mind for other things.

This process of “mental releasing” isn’t meant only for motor control functions. It applies to life control functions, too. For example, we don’t need to exert conscious control in order for the universe to continue delivering its blessings to us. We should be grateful, certainly, for the physical and spiritual riches we enjoy. But concentrating on receiving those riches, as if we need to remind The Universe to do its job, is more likely to short-circuit the process than insure speedy delivery.

Similar to our own bodies, the Body of Life has many natural processes we can “release” once we acknowledge that they are flowing, or that they simply exist. Like the process of personal growth. Or the process of receiving just what we need, right when we need it. Or the process of being exactly where we should be at exactly this moment, on our own one-of-a-kind spiritual journey.

Some things we do by just letting them be done.

The Universe is taking care of me right now. I am walking The Spiritual Path without having to think about each step. I am doing it. It is being done.
