Spare me the analysis. It’s enough that it works!

Sometimes asking how or why is the worst thing we can do. Sometimes not understanding is what “works.”

The rational mind is a wonderful thing. Few people would give back their intellect for the unreflective, half-conscious existence of some primordial Garden of Eden. And yet, in harvesting the fruits of the Tree of Knowledge, our minds do occasionally get in our own way.

Most of our body’s life-preserving functions evolved long before rational thought—and still work best without it. Healing from illness, for example, is a natural process we can short-circuit if we over-analyze or worry about it. Not that we can’t use mental affirmations and medical technologies. It’s our egotistical need to “control” the process that becomes the problem. If we would only accept our healing, we would improve our recovery.

Our emotional and spiritual lives operate in much the same way. If we learn to trust our inner resources, to celebrate and strengthen our connection to our Source, we will receive the guidance and healing we seek.

“Let go and let God” is the traditional mantra. It’s the difference between praying for what we think we need, and attuning oneself to a Universe that already knows.

I accept my inner, subconscious resources as well as my intellect. I will seek a balance that works for me, and embrace opportunities to test it.
